The
Illinois Masonic Children's Homes are maintained by The Most
Worshipful Grand Lodge of Ancient Free and Accepted Masons of the
State of Illinois. We provide for children who we believe can
benefit from the principles of Masonic charity.
Our
Mission is to provide a positive and safe living environment for the
children we serve. In order to do this the Homes have
developed a behavioral management program, which focuses on
providing structure, routine, and consistency to meet the needs of
our residents.
The Homes
utilize a Privilege Level System whereby the residents earn
privileges based on age and ability to demonstrate positive
behavior. This system focuses on the use of daily routines,
positive reinforcement, and discipline as a means of setting limits
and expectations for residents.
The Homes
also focus on the total development of the child by providing many
experiences for enrichment purposes.
All of
the children attend local public schools. Every effort is made
by the staff of the Homes and schools to develop appropriate
educational plans for each child. All children are encouraged
to participate in extracurricular activities in school as well as
within the community.
There
are also opportunities for education beyond high school for any of
our residents. Any resident who wishes to attend college or
receive vocational training may request financial assistance.
